Full Moon in Virgo March 2018

This full Moon occurs on March 2 at 12.51am UT /GMT, at 11 degrees Virgo, opposite the Sun at 11 degrees Pisces, so if you have any planets around 11 degrees of the mutable signs this will affect you more powerfully. 11 is a master number, and in this a universal 11 year, it presents an opportunity to master something within you.

The sign of Virgo is about inner perfection and purity. Virgos are known for being perfectionists, and on a deeper level this sign knows that skills can be continually refined and honed, as it relates to becoming a master of one’s craft. Virgo is symbolised by the virgin, the maiden. The constellation of Virgo is a maiden carrying a wheat sheaf, in which shines one of the brightest stars in the sky, Spica. The wheat sheaf she carries is a symbol of abundance, and the golden harvest of Mother Earth. When grain is harvested it is necessary to separate the wheat from the chaff, and that is exactly what the inner lesson of Virgo is. The process of discernment, letting go of what is extraneous, and bringing out the alchemical gold within you. As the full moon illuminates this sign at 11 degrees, look at what you seek to master within you. Maybe it is some skill or talent; maybe it is refining your way of thinking; maybe it is connecting to the earth and the flow of abundance in a deeper way.

The Moon is opposite the Sun in Pisces, and this sign is all about letting go. Virgo is order and Pisces is chaos. So expect so see some degree of chaos happening, especially with five planets now in Pisces. The Moon is also opposite Neptune, which could create confusion, illusion and possibly deception happening around you. The Virgo Moon seeks to bring order to the watery depths of the unknown, that which is swimming in your psyche which you may not have previously been aware of. So relax and allow whatever is coming up for you; practise mindfulness; and gently release any fears and insecurities, or vague feelings of unease and discomfort you may have. This is a great opportunity to gather up the disparate parts of your consciousness and bring them into focus. What kind of order do they wish to embody now? What new insights can you gain, with the scintillating precise light of the Virgo Moon?

A strong Neptune energy can conjure up a feeling of being lost, wandering or drifting in a boundless ocean. If you have that feeling now, ask for your direction to be clarified. Nebulous thoughts and ideas can be pinpointed and crystallised. You can also harness all this Piscean energy in a healing or meditation session, and tune into divine inspiration.

Mars in Sagittarius is squaring Neptune, Mercury, Venus and Chiron in Pisces, so there is a push to bring out the truth of things, and to take action on dreams and inner guidance. This could bring out heated debates, induce passionate love affairs, and also encourage healing of long held issues. This energy is balanced somewhat by a trine to Jupiter, which emphasises positive uplifting communications.

The full Moon is trine to Saturn in Capricorn, which brings groundedness and a sense of responsibility to put things in order. Now is a good time to take steps towards long term goals, shift gears and prepare your mind for the long haul. The mountain is there for you to climb, and with a few adjustments to your thinking and your daily routine, the ascent will be less of a struggle. Ask for clarity, ease and grace this full moon and life will reveal its gifts.
