Full Moon in Gemini – A Fresh Perspective



The Full Moon in Gemini brings an abundance of communication, and signals the end of Mercury retrograde. The festive full moon is a time of increased social gatherings, and communications will start to flow better under this influence.

 

While the Sun has been moving through Sagittarius, we have been asked to reflect on deep life questions, and contemplate higher philosophies. This has been intensified with both Mercury and Jupiter retrograde. Mercury has been retrograde in the sign of Sagittarius, and Jupiter has been retrograde in Gemini. This is what we call ‘mutual reception’ as they are each retrograde in the other’s sign of rulership. The scope for inner questioning and reversal of habitual through patterns has been immense.

 

The Gemini moon brings a touch of lightness to proceedings, and brings the focus into the present moment, who is with us, and how we can enjoy in the now. The sign of Gemini is like the mind of a child, full of youthful curiosity and questioning. Like a social butterfly, we can circulate and see who is around us. We can learn all kinds of things simply by talking to people, and going somewhere new.

 

We are being called to balance the Gemini Sagittarius axis, which is very much about the mind. In Gemini we circulate like air and learn a little bit about everything. We are asked to rise above the duality of mind, to the brilliance of pure perception and connection through communication. In Sagittarius we enter the fires of wisdom, and expanded learning in one area. We are asked to rise above dogmatic thinking, to the pure joy of the moving currents of life.

 

Can you maintain a youthful curiosity about life, while honouring your hard-won wisdom?

 

Can you communicate with all kinds of people, without letting concepts and beliefs prejudice your mind?

 

Can you extend yourself joyfully and take a risk, without being paralysed by negative thinking?

 

On this day, Mercury moves direct, and communications will become more straightforward, without those annoying hitches and glitches. The shadow phase will last until 2 January, as things gradually get back up to speed.

 

The major aspect to the full moon is a square to Neptune in Pisces. This aspect tends to bring up illusions and things that seem too good to be true. If a new situation arises, take the time to make sure that all is as it seems. People can be seduced and manipulated through their desires, if they are not following their inner guidance. A Neptune square can also bring deception, so take care to check for the truth of things.

 

The Sun and Moon in T-square to Neptune brings you to a point on your journey where you have a choice. Can you balance the thinking, rational mind with the higher wisdom of a situation? Can you analyse and communicate as necessary, while remaining true to your vision and higher calling? Above all, what is your soul guiding you to do now?

 

The guidance of the soul can manifest in different ways. It may be felt as an aliveness in the body, a sense of rightness, a resonance of truth. You may simply feel a knowing, that this is correct, that this will happen. You may get a strong feeling to talk to a certain person, or to follow a particular course of action. If the guidance is coming from your soul, it will be aligned with your purpose and higher calling, not simply fulfilling a self-serving desire. The soul will allow you to manifest circumstances that enable you to serve, for the greater good of humanity.

 

Mars is now retrograde and will be so until February. This is a time of introspection, planning and strategy. The winter months will be a time of deep soul searching, mental clearing, and preparing for the spring. When you tune into your soul vision, a plan of action will be revealed.

 

On this Gemini full moon, allow yourself to lighten up, go out and circulate, and learn something new. Life has many gifts for you when you see it through the eyes of a child.
